Brief Description:  Major bonehead move

Started by cutting the two wing walk reinforcement plates. I highly recommend the EAA videos on their web site. I didn't know the difference between left and right snips. One curls the right side, the other the left. Made it easy to cut the parts.

So, cut the parts. Drilled the right wing walk to match the skin. Took the skin over to the wing and cleco'ed the top row of holes. Everything fit fine. Then I started to look down the skin vertically to line it up with the ribs. It was off by 1/2 an inch at the bottom. Measure again. Off. Got out the fish line and weight, sure enough the ribs were bent 1/2 inch top to bottom.

After my heart restarted I figured out what happened. When I had put together the frame and shimmed the wings, I made sure everything was exactly square. On the top of the wing. I blithely attached the bottom of the wing to the frame assuming the bottom would also be square. It wasn't The supports on the bottom were pushing the wing out of alignment.

I removed all the bottom supports leaving the wing attached at the top and with the floor supports. Tomorrow I will go get the proper sized aluminum angle and re-attach the bottom of the wing so everything is square.

Phew...
