Now these 3 pictures are for a little trick I have not seen mentioned any where else.
There are some areas where the rivet stem is very close to a part and the nose of the riveter will not clear the adjacent part. I found that the dimpler from Sonex works perfectly to provide a surface to pull against, holds the rivet head down and raises the nose just enough to allow clearance.
Note: Be sure the dimple halves are mated together (recessed side and raised side) so the actual surface touching the rivert head and the riveter nose is the flat sides of the dimpler die.
