Brief Description:  Magnetometer Installation

I fabricated a bracket to use in the fuselage and set it all us and tested it at different attitudes by raising and lower the fuselage and the angle of attack changed so that would not work. The Bushcaddy fuselage angles up from the cabin floor and through off the angle. I decided to install it under the left seat so I cut down the bracket after making a few different wood wedges to get the right angle of attach. The EFIS angles down at 11.6 deg so I had to have the Magnetometer top match that by .5 deg according to the GRT instruction manual. Putting the Magnetometer under the left seat puts it in line with the EFIS. I was able to take measurements off the side of the cabin and align the Magnetometer with the same angle as the EFIS. This should all work well as everything around the Magnetometer is aluminum with little ferrous metal in the area. I could have put the Magnetometer in the wings but thought I would try this first and do some tests. I tested the plane at different angles by blocking the fuselage at different heights and EFIS and Magnetometer stayed at the same angles through it all. I had the fuselage at flight attitude for the initial set up to make the bracket and that is where I got the 11.6 deg attach angle.
