Brief Description:  Started installing controls

Had to look at the drawings a lot to make sure I understand how it all goes together. I removed the right fuselage skin to access the fuselage. I had not riveted it yet for this reason. After installing the elevators and drilling out J-291 for the AN3 bolts for the elevator attachment. (Remember that J-291 should have the short side on the left.) I ran the rudder cable forward to the rudder pedals. After looking at the drawings again I knew the control tube was centered in the cabin and the UHMW blocks are attached with AN3-23 bolts I installed it as it would give me the reference for the two angles that attached for the trim pulley. There is no measurements for these parts so looking at the drawings you can see that the long J-275 goes on the left side for the pulley to attach and the short J-275 one goes on the right side and both start with the flat side inboard and spaced the width of the UHMW bushing J-267. I used a square to set them straight and checked the width at the aft end. In installing the J-267 bushing I found that one of them was of a different height so I had to put two .020 shims under it. I set all three on a level surface and found the height in one to be lower looking through the hole for the control tube. When I was installing them is when I found the difference as the tube would not touch all. The bottom was level and the tube was straight.
