Brief Description:  Tip #1

Don who is building an R-120 suggested organizing before you start your build. That is the best advice there is. It has helped in the build every time I go to the parts shelve for the next part I thank Don for the suggestion. So before doing anything on your project organize it. You will be allotting less time to looking and be happier. Connect with fly-bushcaddy at Yahoo groups. You can find help there and a good friend. Copied from Don's log with permission: "Tip 1: Aligning Bulkhead #1.Bulkhead 1 needs to lean backward by 2 degrees and you achieve this by following the mesurements in the plans and using a large carpenter's square to offset the bulkhead. See my tip number 2 for how I did mine.Bulkhead 1 should be mounted to a sheet of plywood that covers the entire bulkhead, use a jigsaw to cut it to shape.Use flathead screws to secure it to the plywood, particularly around the corners. It is very important that the bulkhead remain perfectly flat. When I did mine, my plywood did not cover the entire bulkhead and as a result the corners did not remain perfectly flat. Therefore I had a hell of a time connecting the fuselage to the cabin. I ended up getting it porperly attached but it took a lot of undoing of work already done. If I had kept the bulkhead flat as described above I could have avoided all that trouble. You may have to cut holes in the corners of the plywood so you can pass your hand through when mounting the inside and outside corners."
