Several steps need to be accomplished in the center area of the front baggage shelf to allow installation of the latch. First, you have to remove the L angles that run from the baggage shelf to the center seat back channel. If not, there is no way to get the canopy lock tube in place. Next I marked and cut out the opening for the latch handle. Then I trimmed the top corners of the center seat back channel (under the lip of the upper seat & baggage floor support) to allow the tube to go up into the space between the parts. My last step was to carefully measure the location for welding the handle, since it is centered on the airplane but not on the lock tube.
