Brief Description: Miscellaneous fuselage wrap up items
Today I positioned and drilled the rear wing attachment upright (pilot's side), almost ending the saga of the pinched center spar. When putting the area back together, I discovered that the L angle along the side skin/seat bottom intersection was now positioned differently because of the new location of the upright. Soooo, I remade the L angle. Not a big deal, but just one more of the many things you have to do to build your own airplane from scratch. Next I installed the NACA vent on the passenger side, using part of my old discarded left side skin as the template. That worked great since I could cut inside the outline with my Olfa knife, making a very clean and simple job of it. One of my punch list items was to check the level of the fuselage now that everything is pinned down. 0.0 degrees. That's pretty sweet. Next I moved to the main gear attachments which needed to be drilled to size. This included eight AN3 bolts per side. The last thing of the night was removal of the 601XL upper rudder hinge and replacement with the new 650 style. A full days work, for sure.
