Brief Description: Part 2: Technique for matching bulkhead holes
The next part worked like magic. I just put a shop light inside the fuselage and let the light do the work. As you can see below, the bulkhead flanges and pre-drilled holes showed up beautifully, and all I had to do was push through the poster paper with an ice pick, followed by a cleco. Voila. That's how you make a template for a part like this. The final step was laying the template over my sheet of aluminum, drilling through the holes, trimming the edges and installing. Nothing could be simpler. Well, that's not true, but I am a scratch builder so this is about as good as it gets! I hope this helps those who follow after me. If I saved you a wasted piece of sheet aluminum, just buy me a cup of coffee when we meet someday at a fly-in.
