Brief Description:  Installed Wing Attachment Uprights

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how alll these parts -- some made months ago -- fit together as designed. Setting the angle of the center spar, once and for all, was actually quite easy with the wing jigs in place and leveled. With the uprights snugly in place and the center spar stabilized, the spar angle came in at 81.3 degrees. The textbook answer is 81 degrees, and I certainly consider 3/10ths of one degree to be an acceptable tolerance. Builders working with a bubble level can't even consistently detect that amount of variation. Over the last few building sessions I have seen the fuselage get significantly more rigid, starting at the gear channel and moving forward. Within a week I hope to have the entire front end of the fuselage complete, including contoured side skins from the center spar right up to the firewall. Things definitely are coming together.
