Brief Description:  Confirmed placement of rear frame channel & attach

About a month ago, I ranted about Tom Henderson's undersized gear channel and the grief it caused. The result, as a reminder, is that the front and back halves of the fuselage are about 5mm closer than they should be. With the predrilled holes for the rear frame channel, this was causing the channel to be too "laid back" than it should be when contacting the wing rear channel. Theoretically the problem could be solved in large part by moving the attach plate from the front to the rear of the frame channel, but I had never checked that with my wing jig in place. This was a solution that Roger at ZAC felt should work, and is going to confirm with the designer or engineers. I was pleased that it did seem to make the difference, and the angle of the rear frame channel appears to be spot-on in this configuration. Another option I thought might work was to move the entire frame back to the correct angle, fill the rivet holes in the bottom skin, and reattach it further back. Most of time tonight was spent detaching the frame channel, setting it up with the wing jig, measuring angles and seeing if I could get enough margin between the two rows of bottom skin holes that would result. They were only offset to the rear by about 4.5mm, which is not enough. That is further reason why I'm counting on the other solution. I'll let you know as I hear back from Zenith.
