I was all set to install the rear frame channel in the fuselage, when I decided to compare the dimensions of the pre-made part I had from Tom Henderson. My first clue was that there seemed to be a gap between the side skins of the fuselage and the ends of the channel. Sure enough, his dimensions were 7mm short along the top and 10mm short along the bottom. Bummer. So tonight was my termporary detour back into scratch building parts. Not hard, just frustrating since I thought this was done and because this is a part I paid to have made right. I felt this was critical to get spot on, especially given the scrutiny being given to the rear channel attachment point in light of recent wing problems with the 601XL. I can sleep better tonight, even though my progress has been slowed somewhat. Not a big deal in the big picture.
