Brief Description: Final weight & balance and fuel flow test
I started out by draining both fuel tanks completely. NOTE: The gauge read 2.5 gallons even when empty. This needs to be recalibrated. Then, with the help of Bill whose hangar is across from mine, we used borrowed race car electronic scales to complete my weight and balance. The final numbers are: nose wheel 275, right main 295 and left main 284. When this was put into my W & B spreadsheet, I was pleasantly surprised that my aft CG should never be a problem. My gross empty weight is a respectable 854 lbs. The last test was fuel flow calibration. I added 3.0 gallons of fuel to the empty right tank and found that it took 8:15 to deliver that amount of fuel to the hose disconnected from the carburetor. At that rate, my fuel pumps are delivering 21.82 gallons per hour.
