Brief Description:  Confirmed engine temps and misc.

Because I was still concerned about my engine temps, I decided to enlarge my air box significantly. I gave it a full 7 inches above the top of the starter. William Wynne was in contact with me and he confirmed that our "do not exceed" temperature of 400 degrees was to be measured at the stock boss on the bottom side of cylinder 1. Typically that will register 90 to 100 cooler than a ring sensor on the spark plug. By that standard I was never close to overheating my engine. Before running the engine further, I installed the recommended copper gaskets. Next I installed a static port on each side, connected by a tee. My last job was applying the decals for my N numbers. All of my engine runs to this point had been tied to my car. I felt it was about time to let N819P see some of the airport, so I taxied around for about 15 minutes, trying to also burn in the brakes. What fun to be mobile under my own power!
