Brief Description:  Wire routing

Today I covered a hodge podge of items. I'm sure there are more days like this ahead. I repainted the engine valve covers with black engine spray paint. Next I removed the fuse for the heated pitot and capped the wires in the left wing. I checked flap deflection and it was just over 19 degrees. The biggest job was making a bracket to secure my starter wire as it ran near the harmonic balancer. It was rigid and suspended in space, but still needed to be positively affixed to something. My solution was to take some Z angle and make a short section that could attach to the throttle bracket, providing the correct angle for an Adel clamp to hold the starter wire. After that I drilled a hole in the center seat back channel (6B16-2) to allow me to pass larger objects from the front to the aft of the airplane through the center console without interfering with the control cables. Of course I added a rubber grommet. This allowed me to relocate the headphone jack wires, which were the first and most visible casualty of the rigging process and the addition of the aileron control stop. The final task was to test my ELT at 6:00 PM sharp. All is in order.
