Brief Description:  Connected fuel lines inside cockpit

If it seems like I mention measuring alot, it's because you have to measure alot if you don't want to redo parts of your project. This was a good example. Because of the way the braided fuel line threads through two grommets between the wing tank and the cockpit, you have to attach the line to the wing tank with a long unfinished end ready to push through the fuselage grommet at the time of wing installation. That was done several weeks ago. When I came to this final step, I only had one chance to get it right. If I cut my fuel line too short, it would never reach and I would probably have to remove the wing to start the process over again. Not something I wanted to do! The other factor that almost sneaked up on me was the vertical alignment from grommet to fitting. The line must rise about 50mm to align with the fitting. That requires making sure your flexible hose has enough slack in it to allow the final fittings to line up and thread properly. Too short and you would never be able to get the threads to line up resulting in cross-threading. All that is just to remind builders to think, think, think before cutting, cutting, cutting. I wish I had heeded that advice at a number of steps along the way. Unfortunately my missteps have been recorded in previous postings that I hope never to repeat.
