An international trip and a local leadership retreat, and buying a vacation home in the mountains, have all conspired to keep me away from the hangar. Today I went out for the sole purposes of removing the bottom skin doubler (beneath the center spar) and measuring the length required to make the slotted T-shaped upright doublers go all the way from top longeron to bottom longeron. Having these parts off of the airplane will allow me to make a replacement bottom skin doubler with matching rear holes (not front) and also to make elongated upright doublers to give me a completely new set of forward holes through which to attach the new front doubler.
