Brief Description:  Center spar removed and checked

In two work sessions (Thursday and Saturday), I completely removed the center spar. As I've reviously noted, I did so in the belief that I was going to need to rebuild it with less constriction at the ends. Once I removed the spar, I took it over to my wings and checked the fit. Remarkably the wing main spars fit perfectly into the center spar, even to the point of aligning all the holes using bullet-nose bolts What a pleasant surprise. It now appears that my problem was actually what I first suspected -- wing uprights that compressed the openings. Where this leads me is a careful study of the existing side skin rivet lines, especially the ones for attaching the front wing upright. If they are far enough forward to attach a new, more relaxed front upright, I'm in great shape. If not, I'll need to either go with a side skin doubler (if Zenith approves) or replace the side skin. More later.
