Brief Description: Added panel LED for flap setting
Last week I did research on how to get the flap settings on my EFIS and found that Ray Allen makes a position sensor that you attach to the flap arm. Mine came in just after Thanksgiving so I temporarily hooked it up to an LED display to test the effective range. I've been told that it doesn't read all the way to either end, so I found the effective range and marked it on the position arm. Next I decided that I would like to have my flap position visible at all times, so I cut a new hole in my panel for that LED indicator. Finally I labeled the switches. My plan is to have redundant displays -- both LED and EFIS -- for the pitch & roll trim as well as the flaps. I'm in the process of producing the CAD drawing of that for my wire book.
