Brief Description:  1 - Misc. under cowling - replaced cowling

This morning I covered the old cabin heat valve hole on the upper right side of the firewall with a patch made of 26 gauge galvanized steel. I then sealed the engine baffles with RTV to keep the cooling air where it belongs. I did general clean-up around the inside of the engine, mainly trimming zip tie ends. Several days ago I drained the brake fluid from the left side main gear because of a slow, persistent leak. After cleaning out the female port, I re-applied Permatex 2 to the fitting and reinstalled it. My plan is to wait a week before refilling to see if that helps. In the process of changing over the heat muff from the right to left side, the carb heat SCAT hose came loose. In order to reinstall it for good, I need to put the cowling and nosebowl back in place. That fixes the location of the cowling bottom/air intake. Done -- and it looks like an airplane again.
