Brief Description:  Made mixture control bracket and carb bottom plate

In looking through the pictures in William Wynne's Corvair 601XL Manual, I noticed one picture where the Adel clamp for the mixture control was actually attached to`the intake maniforld flange on top of the carb. I did quite a bit of experimenting to find the right method and placement, and came up with a extended plate made of .060" aluminum with a slight bend at the end to set up the correct geometry. I also reailized that it would make sense to fabricate the bottom cover for the carb while it was off, so that when I get the flange to connect to the SCAT hose, I'll be set. Done, and ready to install tomorrow.

One thing I learned today was how to make a freely-rotating bolt that captures a control cable. The stack, from top to bottom is bolt head, washer, part through which you want to swivel, washer, drilled hole in the bolt, jam washer, nut. The trick is to drill the capture hole enough below the washer above it that the part can turn freely after the nut and jam washer are compressed against the control cable. This is easier to diagram than to describe, but it works like a charm. Learned this on on the EAA website, which is a great resource.
