Worked on the horizontal stabilizer frame this evening. Didn't make as much progress as I had hoped I would. I was a frustrated by the fact that my 48 inch ruler appears to be off a little over a 32nd of an inch overall. So, my horizontal stabilizer might be as much as 1/16" short. I concluded that this error, while frustrating, will not effect the build quality. This possible error is over a range of 78 inches. Besides, the rule might be correct, and the other rules I have may be slightly off in the other direction. Maybe I'll see if there is a Starret ruler at work I could compare mine against.
I did start clamping the frame together. So far most of the ribs look like they fit well. One of the ribs might be a hair short, but I saw that I can make it work by flexing the frame less than 1/32". There should be more than enough material on the sides of the spars and ribs, that the rivets will still be very close to centered on the flanges.
