Brief Description:  Engine Monitor

I got the engine monitor installed a week about, all the EGT, and CHT readings indicated room temperature, so they appear to be working. Unfortunately the fuel flow wouldn't read anything but "0.0" GPH. After going through all the troubleshooting steps I could think of, I contacted GRT Avionics. Long story short, I proved to them I didn't mis-wire the thing, and the agreed to let me return it for repair.

After about a week, The engine monitor appeared in the mail. I connected everything just as I had before, and this time I got fuel flow! The flow needs to be adjusted a little (I calculated 18.5 GPH), but it's close enough that I know it's working.

I also installed a hall effect sensor to detect charge current from the regulator. It seems to be working as well, but it's more difficult to say because I didn't get stable readings when I connected my battery charger. I'm not sure what else to do at this point. If I was at work, I'd get a DC power supply and current limit is to something like 5 or 10 Amps. I think the battery charger might be pulsing the current, but my meter is averaging it, so it looks like 14VDC.
