It's been a long time since I've updated this build log. I have been working on my plane, but last October I installed Windows 8.1, which broke Kitlog, which is the software I use to make this log. There was a patch, but I resisted performing it because I didn't like idea of installing a known incompatible version of .net on my newly updated opeating system. I was hoping that a new version of Kitlog would come out. Well, it didn't, and I finally relented and installed the "patch".

Unfortuanately I haven't been tracking my hours since last October, but all the ailerons, and flaps are finished, my right wing is being stored at a friend's hander, and I hope to finish my left wing in the next couple weeks.

My guess is that I've worked on my plane between 50 to 75 hours since last October. Not as much as I probably should have, but at least I'm progressing. Part of the reason for the lack of progress has been the work environment. It was very cramped in my garage with one wing frame hanging on from the ceiling, and a huge box containing my forward wing skins on the floor always in the way. It was also a very long cold winter, which seemed to always make a convienent excuse to just wait another day.

I also found that handing the wing and flipping it over by myself was next to impossible. I marred the surface of the right wing in a couple of places doing this. However, this spring I came up with a very workable solution. I used a tie-down, and a bicycle hanger hook to lift up one half of the wing from the table where the spare sticks out. I was then able to walk to the other side and rotate it myself. This was a huge breakthrough. I was now able to work on my wings without the risk of damaging them, and wouldn't have to dread it anymore.

Another issue that had slowed my progress was dimpling the skins. I had to get custom dimple dies made for the new flush rivets Sonex LLC sells. Long story...
