Brief Description:  Epoxied butt ribs, EkoBond top of wing panel, pain

While at Oshkosh I talked to the makers of my ELT and antenna that comes with the ELT and both venders confirmed that I needed a ground plane on the antenna. Ain’t that interesting? During a phone call with the ELT vendor - before the initial installation - their tech told me that there was a loading coil in the antenna and a ground plane wasn't needed. So - although the antenna is mounted on the steel frame, and in theory that should be enough, I decided to add as much of a classical shaped ground plane as I could. It's not much but it is more than what was there and the steel frame of the fuselage will have to do. If actual testing proves my hopes don't survive then I'll just have to come up with a plan B.

Applied what I hope to be the final coat of epoxy varnish on the butt ribs.

Brushed on EkoBond - left wing top side.

Prepped and painted the HT and rudder - final coats of EkoFill.
