Brief Description:  Turtleback

Cut out, drilled holes, and prepared the window for the right side the same as for the left side yesterday. Applied dark tint material to the inside of both windows. I used Gila Tint brand in the electrostatic cling variety so there would be no adhesive on the tint to degrade the polycarbonate window material. Masked the outside of the windows that will not be covered by the edge of teh opening in the turtleback. I did this to keep the sealing material from getting on the visible portion of the window and later to protect the window from the clear coat that will go on the turtleback. Installed the windows with clecoes and a coating of Permatex Ultra Black gasket material between the edge of the window and the inside of the turtleback. Finished installation with 1/8" aluminum closed ended pop rivets. Used aluminum washers behind the rivets to keep rivet expansion stress from the hole in the Lexan.
