Removed temporary bolt used to fasten the tailwheel unit to the tailwheel spring with the correct length bolt. Replaced the thin rubber hose used to cushion the main gear mounting with thicker urethane pad from McMaster-Carr. This only on the top of the gear. The bolts aren't long enough to use the thicker pad on both top and bottom. Experimented with how tight to tighten the nuts clamping the gear on. Still have to drill cotter pin holes in the gear mounting bolts.
