Installed threaded insert in fuselage bottom to facilitate bolting the step cross tube. Put the steps back on with the bolt fastening the cross tube to the fuselage bottom. The steps are quite stiff now with little flex in the fuselage. Put the right side fuselage fairing on. Tested step for proper positioning and functionality for ease of entry and exit with the fairing on. No changes necessary. The modified steps are a big improvement. Removed steps and took them to The Dalles Auto parts machine shop for bead blasting to clean them for painting.
