Measured the length of the base of the right strut bottom. Set the adjustable angle square to match the angle of the gear legs and marked a section of 1 1/4 inch aluminum pipe at the length required. Used the 3 inch angle grinder to cut the segment at the angles marked. Sanded the ends to smooth the edges. Set the segment into the lower frame of the gear leg and lined up the ends. Drilled four 3/16 inch holes and secured the end segment with 3/16 inch pop rivets. Repeated the process for the left strut.
