Brief Description: Completed Wiring the AOA Display Plug
Installed the four bolts on the ADS-B GPS unit through the turtle back and tighten then down to seal the unit in place. Routed the wires to the left side of the storage space. Additional tubing to be installed to protect the wires.
Mounted the 9 pin plug on the solder holder and mounted the additional wires to the plug at their designed locations. Provided heat-shrink tubing for each of the wires slid down to the plug and set in place with the heat gun. Installed labels on each of the wires except for the shielded 3 wire for the vane potentiometer. Soldered a 22 gage black wire to the shield of the 3 wire and mated it up with the ground wire from the plug. Crimped a terminal on the two ground wires and covered the terminal with a length of heat-shrink tubing. Mounted the plug to the AOA display unit and measured out the length of wiring for the dimming pot location. Marked the two wires at the desired length, cut away the excess and removed 1/8 inch of insulation from the end of each wire. Placed a 1/2 inch length of heat-shrink tubing on each of the dimming pot wires and slid them down each wire. Soldered each wire to one of the terminals on the pot using the left and center terminals. Slid the heat-shrink tubes down to the pot and set in place with the heat gun.
