Brief Description:  Programed Transponder and Radio Check

Powered up the transponder and verified correct display in the test mode. Programmed the mode S code for the airplane into the transponder by depressing the VFR selection for 5 seconds until the left hand display came up as AF1 and four numbers came up on the right. Used the selections below the display to change the numbers to 5115 and then set them into the display by depressing the VFR selector again. The display now showed AF2 and the second half of the mode S code was enter as 1321. The VFR selector was depressed again which saved the second half of the mode S code and displayed the min/max airspeed for the airplane. The setting that came up were 175 300 which were changed to 75 150 with the right most selector knob under the display. The VFR selector was depressed again and the transponder returned to the test mode. This completed the setup of the transponder for N41LR.

Reinstalled the left audio plugs in the instrument panel after verifying the wiring connections. Routed the right side mic leads over the mixture cable and reinstalled the mic audio plug into the instrument panel. Shorten the right headset lead to better fit the audio plug location on the instrument panel. Installed a crimp terminal with heat shrink tubing on the headset lead and connected it to the audio plug. Connected the ground wire to the plug and mounted it into the instrument panel. Rolled the aircraft to the front of the hanger and performed a radio check with Lee's Summit Radio. The check was successful. Rolled the aircraft back to its paring space. Discovered that part of the tail wheel bungee cord had slid off the end of the tail wheel arm. Used a screw driver to put the cord back onto the arm. Will need to install a 1/4 inch bolt on the end of the arm to keep the cord from slipping off the end.
