Brief Description:  Mounting the Blind Altimeter

Wrapped the cross brace with a segment of silicone tape and also placed a small segment of tape on the angle brace where the second strap would lie. Slid the tray under the cross braces and moved the clips over the braces. Used the small vice-grips to clamp the large strap down on the left side. Slid a 1/8 inch pop rivet into the hole and clamped it in place. Installed the second pop rivet in the strap. Moved the second strap over the angle brace and adjusted the strap to fit snuggly over the brace. Clamped the strap down with the small vice-grips and drilled a 1/8 inch hole in the center of the strap. Trimmed the excess material from the end of the strap and trimmed the corners. Installed a 1/8 inch pop rivet into the clamp. Placed the altimeter into the mount by sliding it back against the mounting screw and then slipped the front tab up under the front lip of the mount.

Placed the radio harness on the back of the radio. Laid out the wires so the mic wires reached each side of the instrument panel. Inserted the left side MIC plug into the instrument panel and secured it in place with a nut and lock-tight. Routed the ground wire from the plug up to the grounding strip in the center of the instrument panel. Printed two wire labels and inserted then on the ground wire. The terminal will have to be added during the next work day.
