Brief Description:  Installed Rudder Tail Light

Continued gluing the right side of the fuselage down to where the tail wheel cables will penetrate the fabric. Marked the fabric where the cables will go through and melted slits under the cables with a soldering iron. Cut an oval piece of fabric and glued it over the slits for the cable. Left to dry.

Installed two 20 gage wires through the wiring tube leaving three inches of wire at each end of the tube. Secured the white LCD to the bracket using blue lock-tight. Connected the LCD wires to the wires from rudder using heat shrink butt splices and a over sleeve of heat shrink tubing. Mounted the assembly into the rudder mount with two 1032 pan head screws with lock washers. Mounted the rudder to the fuselage post and measured the light wire to complete the connection. Cut the wires to length. Slid a 5/8 length of heat shrink tubing over each of the wires from the tail light. Stripped a 1/4 inch area on the ends of each wire. Using the male segment of the wiring plug tinned the two terminals next to the alignment grove. Also tinned the ends of each of the tail light wires. Using a soldering iron connected the tail light wires to the plug terminals next to the alignment grove. Slid the heat shrink tubing down over each of the terminals and set in place with the heat gun. Slid the barrel of the plug down to the terminal assembly and screwed them together. Secured the wire clamp on the end of the plug barrel to the tail light wires. Connected the tail light wire to the fuselage plug and tested the light which worked.

Checked the tail wheel cable fabric patch and pressed it in place. Added some additional glue to complete the fabric attachment. End of day.
