Brief Description:  Second Engine Test Run and Connected Left Landing

Installed a section of tubing for the left landing light wiring on the fuselage. Routed the wiring up to the instrument panel. Put a label on the wire "L LNDG LITE" and heat shrunk it in place. Removed 1/2 inch of installation of the end of the wires and soldered the ends. Doubled the ends back on them self leaving a 1/4 inch segment for securing in the terminal block. Secured the wires into the terminal block positions 5 red and 6 black. Tested the landing lights and the left light did not come on. Checked the terminal block and found that the #5 position was not secure. Corrected the connection and retested the lights. All worked correctly in all modes.

Moved the aircraft outside of the hanger. Strapped the tail to the fire hydrant. Removed the drip can and turned the engine through 8 blades. Got into the cockpit and put the mixture full in. Turned on the power and started the electric fuel pump. Checked the fuel pressure at 4 lbs and primed the engine for 2 seconds. Turned off the electric fuel pump. Checked the ignition switches off and hit the starter for 4 blades. Turned the ignition on and the engine started on 3 blades. Set the rpm at 900 and let the engine run to warm up. At about 5 minutes of run time the EGT was about 250 but the oil temp had not moved. At about this point the oil vent started overflowing and the electric scavenge pump was started. The throttle was pulled to idle and the engine continued to run at about 400 rpm. Shut the ignition switches off to stop the engine.

There is still a problem with the engine scavenge pump with will require rerouting the oil lines to put the carb heat block on the pressure side of the scavenge pump. The manual recommended as shortest path as possible for the oil line from the sump to the scavenge pump with the filter in that line. Started the process of reconfiguring the oil lines.
