Brief Description: Electric Scav Pump and Battery Box Top Continued
Mounted an AN 6 90 deg fitting to the scavenge pump and added a union. Aligned the fitting parallel to the firewall and marked the opening. Adjusted the center mark for the position of the pump when the AN832-6D fitting is installed in the firewall. Drilled a 1/4 inch hole at the designated location. Installed the AN832-6D fitting in the firewall and connected it to the electric scavenge pump. Used blue lock-tight on the firewall fitting to maintain a tight fit. Secured the scavenge pump in place with a T-bolt stainless steel clamp. Refer to Image 1.
Welded up the aluminum top to the battery box. Ground out the welds for a smooth junction at each corner. Refer to Image 2.
Tested fitted the oil tank in place to check for alignment of connections, clearance from the electric scavenge pump and clearance for the bottom output. The bottom output could become a clearance problem it the oil tank is not oriented properly. Refer to Image 3.
