Brief Description: Trial Fitting of the Horizonal Stablizer and Rudde
Oriented the fuselage in the up right position on the table. Did a preliminary positioning of the horizontal stabilizer and marked the position of the mounting bolts. Doubled checked the alignment and drilled the top left bolt hole. Secured the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage using an AN 4 bolt and spacer per the plans. Again checked the alignment and then drilled the bottom right bolt hole. Secured this location to the fuselage with another AN 4 bolt and spacer. Drilled the remaining two holes and secured each with an AN4 bolt and spacer.
Mounted the vertical stabilizer to the rudder post and checked alignment and clearance. Marked the position on the horizontal stabilizer where the front of the vertical stabilizer will fall. Installed the "U" bracket at the marked location by drilling a hole through the base of the "U" bracket and through the horizontal stabilizer. Secured using an AN 3 bolt. Aligned the vertical stabilized in the "U" bracket and drilled the front mounting hole. Secured with an AN 3 bolt.
