Connected to the FAA web site http://airplane.faa.gov/e.gpv/NN and researched available N numbers ending in LR. Choose five possibles, 41LR, 71LR, 90LR, 24LR, and 48LR. Submitted the request form online with a credit card payment of $10.00 to reserve one N number.
Evaluated the stick yoke configuration and cut two 5/8 inch aluminum pipes at about a 35 degree angle to serve as the frame for the stick mounts. Sanded all edges of the pipes and tested fitted them together.
