Brief Description:  Addition of Mounting Tabs for Antenna Ground Plane

Cut seven 3/4 inch lengths from a steel strap 1/8 by 1/2 inches with the chop saw. Ground the edges smooth and rounded one end on each tab. Used the drill press and vice to drill a hole in the rounded end of the tab for a 10-24 die. Threaded each tab for a 1024 screw.

Mounted the landing light in the left opening with the two screws coated with the blue lock-tight. Need to add a wire tube to the configuration to support the position light as well as the landing light wires routed to the instrument panel.

Positioned the aluminum ground plane sheet on the bottom of the fuselage aligned on the left side starting at the F32 cross frame. Marked eight positions for the placement of tabs to support the sheet. Using a vice-grip clamped each tab in place on the frame and then welded them in place with a small MIG welder. Ground each weld smooth with an angle grinder. Used a wire brush to clean each welded area and then painted each with black primer paint.
