Brief Description: Painting of the Bottom of the Belly Pan
Picked up two spray cans of self-etching primer at the hardware store. Removed the paint overflow from painting the top of the belly pan with a plastic scraper. Used 500 grit sand paper to remove any residue of the paint and smooth out any scratches. Wiped the bottom of the belly pan with MEK. Sprayed on one coat of primer in a horizontal pattern. Let dry for about 10 minutes and then sprayed a second coat in a vertical pattern. Applied a third coat in a horizontal pattern after the second coat had dried for about 20 minutes. Set the belly pan aside to dry for 24 hours.
Measured out the location for the instrument holes on the left side of the center line of the instrument panel. Marked the center for each of the instruments hole and drilled a 5/8 hole at the center. Used the hole punch for instruments and punched out each hole. Measured out the locations for the two instruments for the right side of the instrument panel. Again marked the center of each instrument hole and drilled a 5/8 hole. Punched out the holes with the instrument hole punch. Set the panel aside for the next work day's effort on positions for switches and circuit breakers.
