Brief Description: Left Wing Forward Strut Installation
Did a trial fit of the forward strut with the fish mouth plugs in place. The top plug was about a 1/16 inch too high. Removed the plug and ground out the center section to meet the fitting requirements. Fitted the strut back into the wings and slid both ends up against the wing struts. Drilled the top and bottom cross brace. Installed the tie down bracket on the bottom forward cross brace and bolted the strut in place using AN 3 bolts. Drilled a second 3/16 inch hole in the cross brace for the tie down bracket and secured it with a second AN 3 bolt.
Moved the wing support brace from the left side to the right side and mounted the upper wing cross brace. Aligned the cross brace under a wing rib and fully supported the upper wing. Marked the leading edge of the wing in front of the forward strut for removal of material to allow a new fitting. Loosen the lift cable turnbuckles on the right wing. Photographed the gaps on each strut for the production of the fish mouthed plugs. Removed both of the struts and set aside.
