Brief Description:  Full Tension on Rudder Fabric and Pop Rivet Stitch

Set the Iron temperature at about 300 degrees and ironed both sides of the rudder. Raised the temperature of the iron to about 350 degrees and ironed both side of the rudder again. Applied a length of reinforcing tape to the frames where the stitching holds had been drilled. Using a small soldering iron to melt each of the rivet holes clear in the frame of the rudder. Installed a 1/8 inch pop rivet in each of the stitching holds attaching the fabric to the frame. Applied a length of fabric tape over each line of rivets starting at one side of the frame and ending at the other side. Attached one end of the tape and center it over the stitching pop rivets and marked the edge of the tape on the rudder fabric. Lifted the tape and applied a 8 inch length of glue within the marked lines of the tape. Laid the tape on the glued area and applied glue to the top of the tape. Wiped the excess glue from the tape with a paper towel smoothing the tape on the rudder fabric. Repeated for the full length of the tape. Applied the same process to the other five tapes needed to complete the rudder. Started to applied glue to the outside edge tape but run out of day.
