Brief Description: Engine Cowling Initial Test Fitting
Suspended cowling from ceiling centered on engine and airframe. Aligned the trailing edge with the top of the firewall. Centered the top sheet over the aircraft with an overhang of 1.5 inches on each side. Clamped one side and aligned the other side at the same distance from the cowling edge. Clamped in place. Doubled checked alignment and measurements and adjusted for equal distances from the firewall to the cowling rear edge. Aligned the lower front of the cowling with the engine hub at an equal distance for the top and bottom. Used a small strap attached to the bottom of the firewall and the bottom of the cowling to maintain alignment.
Installed a new shop LED light over the aircraft as the old florescent light had failed.
