Brief Description:  Fwd bottom skin assembly

Lots of small sub assemblies are comming together in this step. The ribs are all clecoed into place. The firewall assembly is added to the front skin. The front and mid fuselage bottoms are then joined for match drilling.

I picked up 8 hardware store bolts to make a temp join of the fore and aft spars. Since I didn't buy the wing kit first, Vans added the main spar bulkheads to the fuselage kit for an extra $1000 or so, but didnt include the joining bolts. Since the fuselage joining is temporary, I wouldn't want to use the precision tolreance bolts anyway. Once everything is drilled, it all comes apart again for deburring and priming.

I really like the Stewart Systems water based primer. I know it doesn't have the ruggedness of the epoxy based or urethane based primers. It's quick and non-toxic. It is questionable if a primer is even needed, but ar least with this material you get the best of both worlds. Easy to put on, and primed.
