Brief Description:  Controls

I have spent hours routing and rerouting the engine control cables to find the right combination of length and routing. After being absolutely sure that no routing of cables would work with the cable length Vans supplied, creative routing and two new firewall holes it all worked out.

This also meant turning the airflow induction 180 degrees from the Lycoming factory installation (which means the fuel line up to the spider will not work as installed) so the controls functioned in the correct direction. It also meant switching cable lengths around and making new brackets as NONE of the Vans brackets are even a little bit close.

I also purchased an aftermarket Throttle quadrant that placed the cables too close together so I had to machine a customer threaded mounting plate that allowed close spacing of all three cables. So hopefully the photos will tell the story of the customer bracketry.

I still need to do a little fine tuning of the control throw to be able to utilize the full throw of the quadrant by drilling attach holes closer to the pivot point. Right now, full activation is about half of the available throw.
