Brief Description:  Base coat the tail components

I am using Juneau White as a base coat color. I am still not sure what I want for a design or color scheme for the aircraft.

The color coat paint sprays completely different than the primer coat. According to the online videos you first do a mist coat, let it tack, then spray two light wet coats letting the first tack before spraying the second.

So far, I can only sit I haven’t gotten it right. The combination of correct viscosity, correct gun settings and correct coat thickness has eluded me. The net results have been lots of runs and orange peel. Sanding with 400 cleans up the mess fairly easily, but it would be nice to get it close to right in the application.

So far reducing with only half of the recommended water sprays the best. Another few tries might confirm or refute that impression.
