Brief Description:  Control Stick angle adapters

This post falls under electrical only because it included adding connectors into the control stick wiring that make them easily removable. I purchased a much smaller Molex connectors that will fit through the control yolk tubing. They are Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 series from Digikey. Wow are these pins small! I also added a co-pilot trim switch disconnect to keep any front passengers from messing with the buttons.

This bit of rework also included machining new adaptors to angle the control stick such that it does not hit the switches on the bottom of the IP. The photos show it best. The hole in the adaptor is angled 18 degrees rearward from square to stand the Tosten grips more upright to miss the switches.
I installed a 4 and 6 way only to find that the new adapter I needed to slide on wouldn’t fit over the connectors and had to cut them off … more practice crimping the tiny pins.

I needed to grind off a small sliver of the Grip mount as the angle was a little too much. In trying to file off a burr, I pulled the wire cover out. To put the wire cover back on and finish removing the burr, I took the grip apart and broke a switch in the process. I found and ordered the switch from DigiKey (about 75 cents) and soldered in the new switch.

At least this finishes all work on the control sticks other than hooking up the PPT and Autopilot disconnect switches to wires already run.
