I scored 8 new 2" eye vents on ebay for a great price, so will abandon the possible use of Lincoln Zepher car vents.
I have started gathering all of the requisite bits to silkscreen the switch panels. The photo below shows the piece of 1/4" lexan with a sand blasted back. The silkscreeing will be applied to the back side (inside) showing the markings through the clear lexan. This is known in the auto industry as second surface printing and is how vehicle emblems etc. are made. All switches will be mounted to removable inserts. All will be backlit to bring out the contrast.
