Brief Description: Install grips and wiire trim switches
Yoday I cut down the sticks and mounted the grips. With the added length of the grips, I cut the stick to minimum length to still allow mounting. The grips came with an adapter using a screw with a nut. The screw locks the grip in the adapter, and the nut locks the adapter in the stick tube. The installation leaves the screw sticking out almost 1/2", which I did not like. With careful shortening of the screw I was able to get the screw to both lock the grip and the adapter when fully seated.
Roll and pitch trim is controled by the VPX with both pilot and co-pilot wired in parallel. So those wires are complete. I mounted two terminal strips to the top of the gear mounts. The grips have 8 possible functions with 2 grounds. The two ground wires are intended to allow the co-pilot trim hat to be switched on and off. The two ground wires are intended to allow the co-pilot trim hat to be switched on and off. My initial plan is to have the following functions:
pitch trim (up down) 2 functions roll trim (left right) 2 functions PTT Auto pilot disconnect rudder trim (left right) 2 functions
The problem is to wire two SPST switches (in the grip) to the left right function for rudder will require some TBD combination of relays to function. I still need to figure this one out.
