Brief Description:  drill center canopy support and trim windows

The front center support was drilled. I triangulated from 6 different points to find the exact center. Each set of points produced a slightly different point, all within 1/4". So I sighted from the front up the rivet line to the tail and set the support slightly offset to the left (since the attach point on the dash is slightly left of center).

I went back to the 4 1/2" grinder for the windshield trim as I find the bigger grinder much more controlable than a die grinder with the smaller cut off disks Van's provided. I can hold the grinder and sight right down the line with the disk. It also pulls me directly forward rather than trying to twist since the axis of the disk is parallel to the body. One trick I used was to use a black sharpie to make a line right at the inset in the canopy that was easy to see. That way I could see exactly where I needed to trim to through the windows while marking the plexi glass.
