The first step in the forward fuselage is building up the bulkheads. Since I didn't buy the wing kit first, Vans added the center spar sections to the fuselage kit.
It is clear Vans assumes a much higher level of competence from the builder at this point. The instructions pack multiple actions into each step. Typical sequence as before. Cleco together, drill, take it apart, debur, prime and rivet together. Very cool working with bigger heavier structure.
I still struggle with some of the more difficult rivets. It's almost always the set slipping partially of the head of a round head rivet .... smiley, smiley .... drill, drill. Small pieces tend to move, messing with with the alignment of the gun and bucking bar.
