Brief Description:  tailcone pre assembly D3C

Well, each hole I drill is one less that needs to be done. The real problem is when I stop paying close attention and drill a hole im my middle finger ... ouch! That hurts! (Great caution needs to be exercised when holding the stringers in position while drilling.)

All of the stringers are in and the top skin is on. Just the bits on the rear dech to go. All of the hundreds of holes are match drilled. Soon it will be time to take it all apart agian.

The plans provide dimensions to the closest 1/32 nd of an inch for all if the various bits that require fabrication. None of the dimensions are toleranced. It is hard to get that level of precision without going beyond a tape measure and fine point sharpie. Well the reality is +/- 1/16 is more than sufficient for all of the stringers etc.. Some things like mounting holes might need to be better, so I will be using the mill for the elevator mounting pieces. The preciision is probably not needed, but will be +/- 0.001" for all of the holes.

Well, no sooner is it all together than it comes apart! Next steps, debur, de plastic, dimple, countersink and prime.
